Solid Gold’s “Neon Rose” used as stripper music in ABC’s Scoundrels

That’s right. The episode airs Sunday July 25th, 2010. Apparently it will be in the scene where “Heather” is stripping for the first time. In the Dirty South, it’s common practice to test out your new mixes at strip clubs, to gauge reactions, hear your music on a bumpin system, or probably just to look at some ass. We have always thought it would be funny to send our demos to strip clubs. I guess ABC agrees. Thanks. Click here to buy the track
The Minnesota Twins love Solid Gold
June 21, 2010 | Tags: minnesota twins, Solid Gold, take me out to the ballgame
The Minnesota Twins have asked Solid Gold to record a version of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” for use at their new stadium. Corny? Cheesy? A mockery? Well, isn’t it ironic that the windows of Solid Gold’s warehouse look directly onto the new stadium? The band could not decline, and recording proceeded. The result is an acid dripping minute and a half of sunsplashed delight. The song will be heard at Twins home games starting in late June. Stay tuned for download options and more info.

We just returned from an epic journey through the left side of the country. We opened for Jamie Lidell at the Troubadour in LA, played with our friends Lemonade in San Fran, chilled with Shon’s dad in the Vegas desert, and got sunburnt all up and down California. We came up with a new sitcom, a Napbuddys spinoff called Stoop Boys – stay tuned for the pilot episodes of both shows. Much love to all our friends and family in LA, San Francisco, Denver, and Vegas. Stay tuned for pictures and more in the gallery. We taped a live session for Indie 103.1 and KCRW which will air in June. peace.
